Pineview Part 2

Alrighty so after swearing I wouldn't go back to Pineview because it was so hard on me the last time, I went again this Friday. However, this time, Hyrum and Emma were spending a few days with Grandma and Grandpa, so I only had Porter and Danny and Auntie Kerrin had the day off and really wanted to go swimming. We tried the public pool only to find out that it was closed to general public and they were reserved by a party. So up to Pineview we went, and I have to say, it was totally worth it. The water was so much warmer this time and with only two kids and two adults, I actually got to go swimming a bit and really enjoy myself. Also, because it wasn't near as cold, Danny even enjoyed the water a bit and then played in the sand like crazy. Porter always has fun. It's his "beach." He loved getting to go to the beach.
I love this shot with Porter's bum all covered with sand. It was just too funny not to post.
He really was in heaven, not only had he had the whole day with his mom, he was now playing in the "watie," which is Porter's favorite thing to do.
So innocent.
Digging with his beach toy.
Me after actually getting to swim. I've really tried to shed some self doubt this year about being in pictures and so I take more, primarily for Joe while he's gone. But I've gotta say, this was so relaxing to just be able to swim. I played peak-a-boo in the water with Porter. He was on shore and then I would go under. He loved it. He kept telling me to do it again.
Here's the two boys playing in the sand. These two are always so cute together.
Auntie ventures into the water with Danny. He even went under a couple of times. Wasn't liking that too much, but at least he wasn't screaming bloody murder like last time. Although he definitely prefered to be on shore.
Porter splashing in the shallows. I took him out and helped him swim a bit and spun him in circles in the water, which he loved too.
Mommy trying to warm up the little one.
The was just cute. He was a bit cold after being in the water, so we took a mommy-baby break.
And then he was off to discover the world of sand.

It really was a lot of fun. Hyrum and Emma had a blast at Grandma and Grandpa's and mommy definitely enjoyed the break. After a week of severe orneriness, especially on Hyrum's part, I was ready to go completely insane. Grandma and Grandpa took them at just the right time and then today they were really great, especially Hyrum. Sure hope things continue on the good path.

Hollywood Connections

Well this past Wednesday they were having a Military Appreciation Day at Hollywood Connections, a family fun place in West Valley. So we totted our bums down there. It was a blast for the kids, but I can honestly say that it was one of the worst days. It was overcrowded, hot, and the kids were ornery. We tried miniture golf which was a disaster with Porter, because he wanted to participate but only got in the way, and again it was too crowded. We tried roller skating which was a complete and utter disaster. Hyrum and Emma were dreadful at it. Emma fell a few times and gave up, screaming and crying. Hyrum, although a slight good thing, refused to give up. He brought me and the baby down (the baby was in the stroller), and while I was down, Hyrum tried to get up and did the splits, sending his skate right into me and now I'm sporting one heck of a bruise on my thigh. The rides were fun, but patience was not on the menu for the kids that day and so it was quite the trial of mine. However, we did manage a few good pictures.
Here's Emma riding the caurosel. This was actually fun. She wasn't so sure about being strapped to the horse.
This is Hyrum trying to fake smile through tears after Mom told him we had to get out of there after being there for like five hours.
Porter with Uncle Travis waiting to ride the caursel. Now, it does look like he's looking forward to it right?
Well this is what he thought of being put on the horse.Of course, once it started moving, he was just fine. Little dork.
Here's Danny with Auntie waiting to ride. I don't have a picture of him actually on, nor of Hyrum because they were on the other side and I was riding with the camera with Emma and Porter.
However, here's Hyrum waiting to ride. It's the lesser of two evils, this one looks like he's touching himself and the other he was picking his nose. He's not actually touching himself, it just looks that way.

Pineview Part 1

Well last Saturday I decided to venture a trip up to Pineview Reservoir with the kids; yes, all by myself. It was fun for them. The water was a bit cold and Danny hated that so he didn't last long in the water, hence, neither did mom. However, the other kids had fun playing in the water and digging in the sand.
They were trying to figure out where to put the hole so they could get water to it easier.
The construction begins.
Me in all my sunbathing beauty. You gotta love the tan lines. I've gotten pretty tan from being outside with the kids but that's wearing my clothes so in a bathing suit, I think it looks pretty funky, but oh well. I was chillin on the blanket and keeping an eye on Dan.
Dan just played with my keys.
Emma partied with her buckets. She had fun dumping water on her from the bucket. She said she was going under the water. Well, I guess the water was going over her and she was under it.

I Can Sit!

Okay so the big news is that Danny can put himself into a seated position without any help at all. He's very proud and loves to do it. He also has a fascination with cords. He's always being caught sucking on them. Very annoying and very naughty. We take them away constantly but somehow no matter how much we hide them, he always finds them.

Well they all wanted to take pictures with Danny at this moment, but no one thought it necessary to sit still. This was the funniest one. I have strange kids.
My three sweet boys. Hyrum wanted one with Danny and as soon as I took it, Porter wanted one with him, so I told them to all get together. This is quite the accomplishment, because up until this point, Porter has been quite adverse to picture taking.
Oh, and of course, everyone loves the biter biscuit shots. Well mom does anyway. Nothing like something that every baby seems to love and something that makes such a wonderful mess all over something this little. Man I have cute kids. They make me laugh. Drive me nuts too but at least the giggles even things out.

Alot Going On

Well, last night we went down to Manti to go to the Manti Pageant. I haven't been since Joe and I were first married, and for me there is nothing better than being on those temple grounds. My only wish is that Joe could have been there too, but I guess nothing can be perfect. I tried to get everyone in front of the temple. We have Danny and me and I know I don't look great, but what do you do. Kerrin and Travis joined us and everyone seemed to have a good time.

The kids were too cute and don't ask about the poses, I don't know why they do that, especially Emma. Drives me crazy. It was very hot while the sun was out and then once the sun went down we all snuggled under blankets, well, everyone but me. Everyone kind of left mom out in the cold because I had to deal with Danny. Emma and Porter fell asleep and it took much to keep Danny that way. Since he was having problems staying asleep, I got allocated to the part of the blanket that the cover blanket didn't cover. Hyrum was kind and let me borrow his at least. What a sweet little boy.

Porter fell asleep on the way down and I just thought this was way too cute to not share. He used his monkey leash thing as a pillow. It was so freaking cute. This kid loves this thing, well, as long as you aren't trying to yank him one way when he wants to go the other, he loves it.

Last week we hit the zoo. They've finished the new carousel and the fun stuff about it so we decided to go and take a spin. If you can't tell, it was extremely hot. We all were not prepared and payed the price of pure exhaustion afterwards, but it was worth it. Even I went on and helped Porter out.

Porter was a bit scared but he held on good. Mern loved it and so did Emma, although she wasn't too sure at first. Danny sat this one out with Auntie Kerrin and had some yummy applesauce.

Sorry this was so dark. That sun was definitely blazing.

Emma and Hyrum also went to a fun swim birthday party for one of their friends. While they partied, Porter got a foot soak with Auntie in mommies foot massage thing. He loved it, wouldn't get out. It was very cute.

On another note, this is just kind of funny. Lately, Hyrum has been reading Porter to sleep at night. He also doesn't like to sleep alone, so it's a good excuse for him to fall asleep with his brother, in Porter's bed. Porter tries to go up to Hyrum's, but since Hyrum is suppose to sleep on the top bunk, that is a big no no in mommy's house. The first night they fell asleep normal like, the next, mom walked in to check up on everyone and found them like this. And, yes, they slept like this ALL night long. Man I have weird boys!!!

Danny's 6 month Well-Baby Appointment

Well last month I totally forgot that Danny was six months old, time flew too fast, and so I forgot about his well baby appointment; thankfully I remembered a couple days after he turned six months and so I took him in today. He weighs 17 lbs. 7 ozs. He is 27 inches long. That all puts him squarely in the 50th percentile. The best news was that his heart murmur is finally gone!!! I was so proud. He did really well. Only had to get two shots. He screamed for about a minute and then went back to his babbly self.

Also, Danny LOVES people in uniform. He usually looks at strangers with this look of "who the freak are you." But everytime he sees someone in uniform, he smiles. He also started saying "dada" today. It started after he saw all those people in uniform, so mama is thinking he just might know what he's saying after all. He already says "mama," so at least I came first ;) .

FYI--this is Danny sitting in his new Bumbo. He loves the thing and so does mom. It's making his back muscles a bit stronger and it makes feeding him big boy food so much easier.

I can Move!!

Danny is really moving now, and he has loads of fun doing it. He also does this tuck his legs under his bum and try to sit up thing that I keep trying to photograph, but he moves too quick, but thankfully I got it in the video. He's a little inchworm, a really fast inchworm too. He grooves all around the house; it boggles the mind sometimes. I turn around and wonder, "how on earth did you get there?" It's so cute.

Man he loved this bottle. Went ALL over the house after it. Then again, he does that with anything he truly wants. He's definitely one very determined little boy.

Little Reid's Birthday Party

I have to say, the day I became an Aunt was weirder than the day I became a mother. There is something about being an Aunt that is just so different and so wonderful. Well, my first nephew had his very first birthday party this past Saturday, although tomorrow is his actual birthday. I feel like it was only yesterday that I was visiting Melinda in the hospital when she had him. He's such a cutie and it was so much fun to be around family. When one's husband is gone, there is something that is so comforting about being around family. Anyway. Happy Birthday Little Reid. Here's some fun pictures from the day.
Little Reid in all his glory. His mom had made him his very own cake and he demolished it. Didn't eat as much as he did dig into it.
Aunt Jenny sporting a party hat.
Mern playing inside before the party.
Aunt Naomi tries for a group shot. Hyrum was outside playing so we tried with Emma, Porter, Dan and Reid. Both Dan and Porter were trying to escape.
Birthday boy playing before his party.
Dan liked eating all Reid's toys. He didn't like being outside much so Mommy ended up inside with Dan. Oh well. It was fun anyways.
Emma and her straight hair. She had me straighten it for the party, and yes, she sat there while I did it. She had me do it again today. She likes how long her hair is when it's all straight. She's such a girl.
Birthday lunch and a party hat. Man this kids looks just like his pops except with is Mom's hair color and skin tone.
Porter sporting the unicorn look with his party hat, and toting a ball he found out back. He wanted to take the ball home.
Uncle Geoff and Aunt Morgan came too and Grandpa Reid was there. We haven't seen any of them for a while so that was nice. When the kids so Geoff, Hyrum and Emma ran up and gave him one major hug. Danny is enthralled with Aunt Morgan. My kids sure like it when they are around so it was a pleasant treat to have them there.
